About Us

To empower survivor-led organizations & survivor leaders by providing mentorship, capacity-building, and strategic resources, ensuring no survivor walks alone.

The Community Violence Intervention National Survivor Network (CVINSN) connects national survivor leaders to enhance their impact locally. By connecting survivor leaders to resources, education, and peer support, CVINSN strengthens their healing, builds their capacity, and equips them to bring transformation and hope back to their local communities. The foundation of connecting, healing, and leading empowers survivor leaders to rebuild families, restore hope, and reduce violence nationwide.

A Space for Connecting, Healing, and Educating

The layers of trauma families experience after losing a loved one to community violence are deep and overwhelming. Yet, many find the strength to move forward — honoring their loved one’s legacy and working to prevent other families from enduring the same pain.

The Community Violence Intervention National Survivor Network (CVINSN) is a coalition of survivors who lead healing efforts in their cities and states. While many survivor networks exist, the bias and unique trauma faced by families impacted by community violence require a space of their own. CVINSN supports survivors leading programs in their communities by connecting them to vital resources, tools, and peer support — strengthening their capacity to serve others, heal families, and empower communities.

Many survivor-led efforts are born out of passion and personal loss. CVINSN helps transform that passion into sustainable, more effective work — providing education, collaboration, and a virtual space for local survivors to find services and support in their area. Through this work, CVINSN helps heal families, empower communities, and expand the impact of survivor leadership nationwide.
